About Us

The Baseball Concepts Coaches Guide has been developed with the professional counsel of the advisory board. The advisors of this product have extensive experience in both playing and coaching baseball at many different levels. This group has combined to produce this extremely effective baseball coaching tool that is available to youth coaches!


The Founder…

Jeff VanHuis M.Ed.

Ferris State University and Zeeland West High School Coach

Ten seasons as a high school varsity baseball coach. His Masters Degree in Education helped him train and teach over 900 baseball players. Member of both the Michigan and American baseball coaches associations.

Dann Howitt

Oakland A’s, Seattle Mariners, Chicago White Sox

Former accomplished Major League Baseball. From 1989 to 1995, he played with the Oakland A’s, Seattle Mariners, and Chicago White Sox. He was teammates with Mark McGwire, Jose Canseco with the A’s. With Seattle, he was a fairly regular leftfielder playing side by side with Ken Griffey JR and Jay Buhner. He also played college baseball for Michigan State and Cal State Fullerton. A piece of MLB trivia history belongs to him. Dann was the last player to get a hit off Nolan Ryan (a Grand Slam) in the Seattle King Dome.

Anthony Santiago

Davenport University

From San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2008 he won the Puerto Rico Baseball Amateur League Championship and had a chance to represent Puerto Rico in the World Series in Texas. He spent two years at Grand Rapids Community College, reaching the NJCCA World Series in 2012. He finished with two seasons at Davenport University, reaching the NAIA World Series in 2015. Anthony has a wealth of baseball experience as well as teaching young kids in both individual and group settings.
